Our on-campus Polar Orbit Satellite Ground Receiving Station enables ocean remoting sensing projects. CRO’s laboratories – the Laboratory for Ocean Environmental Pollution Analysis and Assessment, Laboratory for Ocean Environmental Pollution Prevention and Remediation, Laboratory for Ocean Environmental Simulation and Modelling, and Laboratory for Ocean and Atmospheric Research support collaborative research. Qualifications
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Ocean Science and Technology, Remote Sensing, or related areas. Preference will be given to candidates with research and teaching experience at the tertiary education level.

Remuneration
A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,210,300 (approx. USD149,420) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,019,200 (approx. USD125,830) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP828,100 (approximately USD102,230) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The Department of Mathematics (MAT) of the Faculty of Science and Technology invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in the area of Statistics. This position is intended to complement and strengthen the expertise of existing staff members. We are seeking candidates with a proven track record in terms of scientific publications, and a commitment to teaching and student supervision.

MAT currently has 19 faculty members and more than 40 PhD students, their research areas cover Probability and Statistics, Financial Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Mathematical Physics, and Analysis. The department offers Bachelor, Master and PhD degree programs. The Bachelor degree program has two streams: Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Data Science. The PhD program provides sufficient financial supports through the following funding sources: Chinese Government NSFC Funding, Macau Government FDCT PhD Funding, UM PhD Scholarship, UM PhD Assistantship.

Qualifications
Applicants must hold a PhD degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related areas; Preference will be given to candidates with a strong research record in Statistics, Applied Probability or Data Science. The department is working on developing a Master program in applied statistics.  The successful candidates are expected to contribute significantly to the program.  The candidates for appointment at the rank of Full Professor must have achieved a high level of distinction and recognition, and have made significant contributions to a related research area.
