EME holds its annual event − EME DAY 2023
The annual EME Day 2022/2023 organized by the Department of Electromechanical Engineering (EME) of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of the University of Macau (UM), was successfully held at the Multi-Function Hall of UM Guest House (N1) on 3rd March 2023. This annual event was organized by the EME Year-3 students with assistance from EME administrative staff. The EME day served as a welcome reception of the freshmen, harmonize all EME students and provide a good chance for the students, alumni, staff and engineering companies and organizations to share their experience in real life world. There were around 250 participants including students, professors, alumni and representatives of sponsors, which signified the important support from the industry as well as harmony and friendship in Department of EME.
The success of this annual EME Day is credited to all the students, professors, alumni and sponsors for their support and participation. Staff and students are grateful for the sponsors. Dr. Seng Kin LAO received the qualification of “National BIM Skill Level Assessment – Building Services and Facilities Level 2 – Advanced BIM Modeler”
Since 2020, the Macau SAR government has promoted the application of BIM technology to be implemented in large public construction projects, like the Macau Cotai Healthcare Complex, and the rental housing project for seniors in Plot P. It is therefore utmost important to equip our students with the BIM skills.
The National BIM Skill Level Assessment is organized twice a year by the China Graphics Society. The purpose of the exam is to cultivate diverse talents, inherit technical skills, and promote employment and entrepreneurship using the latest BIM technology. Dr. LAO engaged potential students to participate in the Level 1 exam and provided them well-organized tutorials. The pass rate of our students is higher than the national average.
