The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering arranged a technical visit at the Traffic Control and Information Center of DSAT of Macau SAR on 22 November 2019 to learn about the current development of smart city transportation. In the visit, the students had chance to understand the function, the facilities of Traffic Control and Information Center and DSAT. Then, a comprehensive introduction of intelligent transport system (ITS) in Macau was given. Various types of new systems in ITS have been developed and they are junction detection system, electronic enforcement system, traffic data and information system, commuter information system, cross boundaries car control system, traffic incident management system, next stop announcement system, intelligent traffic signal control and traffic flow trend data analysis. The visit was a successful event for students to understand the newest technology about smart transportation promoted by the Government.
