The first Data and Artificial Intelligence Summit in Macao was successfully held in the University of Macau (UM) on 20th April (today). The summit brought together numerous top scholars and experts from around the world and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to discuss cutting-edge topics such as machine learning technology, social media mining, and autonomous driving technologies. The event attracted nearly 200 attendees, including government officials, entrepreneurs, students and Macao residents. The summit aimed to explore the applications of data and artificial intelligence and their significant impacts on modern society while broadening the research perspectives of the industry in Macao and the Greater Bay Area.
During the summit, Zhiguo GONG, head of the Department of Computer and Information Science at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), shared that UM is committed to promoting technological innovation and research implementation. The main purpose of this summit was to deepen innovation and cooperation between universities within the Greater Bay Area while providing a platform for exchange to enable the wider community to understand the development dynamics of data and artificial intelligence. It marked a significant milestone as the first large-scale conference on data and artificial intelligence in Macao.
The summit invited numerous international and Greater Bay Area scholars and experts to analyze their unique insights, development trends, and implementation of artificial intelligence, data science, methods, and technologies, and data privacy and security through lectures, sharing, and panel discussions. It stimulated discussion among the participants and equipped the industry to meet future technological developments.
The summit was hosted by the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Macau, the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City, the Centre for Data Science, and the Department of Computer and Information Science. It is expected to bring new energy to the development of artificial intelligence and robotics in Macau and the Greater Bay Area. UM will continue to promote technological innovation and talent cultivation to develop Macao and the Greater Bay Area into an international technological innovation center.
澳門大學於今日 (20日) 成功舉辦了澳門首屆數據與人工智能峰會,多位來自世界各地及大灣區的頂尖學者及專家一同探討機器學習技術、社交媒體大數據挖掘以及互聯和自動駕駛技術等前沿議題,吸引近二百名政府人員、企業家、學生及社會人士參加。此次峰會旨在探討數據與人工智慧的應用及為現代社會帶來的重大變革,為澳門及粵港澳大灣區業界掌握最新技術,拓寬研究視野。
峰會上,科技學院電腦及資訊科學系系主任鞏志國致辭時表示,澳門大學一直致力於推動科技創新和應用落地,峰會目的是為了進一步深化粵港澳大灣區創新開放合作,同時希望提供交流平台,令社會各界了解數據與人工智慧發展動態。此為澳門首個數據與人工智能大型會議,具有重要的里程碑意義,
峰會邀請多位國際及大灣區學者專家學者通過專題演講、分享及討論會多種形式,分析其獨特的見解及對人工智能的發展趨勢及其應用、數據科學的方法和技術以及數據隱私和安全問題的經驗和見解。激發了現場與會者的思考和熱鬧討論,也為業界裝備自己,迎接未來科技發展。此次峰會由澳門大學科技學院、智慧城市物聯網國家重點實驗室、數據科學研究中心及電腦及資訊科學系主辦,期望能為澳門及大灣區人工智能與機器人技術的發展注入新動力。澳門大學將繼續推動科技創新、產業發展及人才培養,讓澳門及粵港澳大灣區發展成為建設成為國際科技創新中心。
