Students and faculty members from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Macau (UM) visited the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation at the South China University of Technology (SCUT) for a 4-day training camp in Guangzhou. The purpose of the visit was to broaden their professional horizons and understand recent development of Greater Bay Area.
The training camp was an important outcome of the cooperation agreement signed by UM and SCUT. Since the first training camp in 2023, it aimed to enhance exchanges and cooperation in civil engineering education, research, and talent development, and to strengthen links between higher education institutions in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Students and faculty members from UM visited university history museum in Wushan campus and Guangzhou international campus for understanding the history and development of SCUT. They also learned about the facilities and research innovation about the State Key Laboratory of Subtropical Building Science, 3D printing hub and wind tunnel laboratory in Wushan campus. Moreover, they visited the Memorial Hall of the Third National Congress of the Communist Party of China to gain a deeper understanding of the history of the Chinese Revolution and strengthen their patriotism. They also visited the Bai’etan Greater Bay Area Art Center to explore Guangzhou’s beauty of cultural hub.
In addition, participants from both universities traveled to Nansha and visited the Nansha Cultural and Sports Complex Stadium which will be the main Arena for 15th National Games held in cities in Guangdong province as well as Hong Kong and Macao. The main contractor, China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd , is responsible for construction of sports complex, swimming and diving hall and warmup facilities. The project will be finished by end of 2024. Students walked into construction site and visited the swimming and diving hall site as well as smart construction demonstration room for understanding the new technology. Afterwards, the students and faculty members visited Baidu Apollo Park, which is one of China’s most comprehensive and visually appealing intelligent connected vehicle testing base to learn more about autonomous vehicles technology development in Greater Bay Area.
Since the launch of UM and SCUT 2+2 joint programme in 2019, the training camp is a platform for UM students to experience the university life and professional activities in SCUT personally for further understanding the 2+2 joint undergraduate programme and it plays positive role in strengthening ties and fostering future cooperation between the two universities. The training camp was led by Associate Professor Lok Man Hoi, Assistant Professor Pan Mi, and Senior Instructor Wan Iat Meng, from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
澳門大學科技學院土木及環境工程系師生走進廣州華南理工大學土木及交通學院,參與為期4日的粵港澳大灣區“未之星”訓練營研學交流活動,拓闊專業視野及認識大灣區最新發展。
“未之星”訓練營是澳大及華工簽署合作協議後的重要成果,自2023第一屆訓練營開始,本營旨在促進雙方在土木工程教學、科研和人才培養的交流與合作,加強粵港澳大灣區高等教育的連結。
在本屆“未之星”訓練營內,澳大師生先後參觀了華工的五山校區校史館以及國際校區校園,了解華工的歷史及最新發展。在五山校區內他們參觀了亞熱帶建築科學國家重點實驗室設施、3D打印創客中心以及風洞實驗室,了解科研及創新。他們亦參觀了中共三大會址紀念館,回顧中國革命的歷史,加深愛國情懷;同時也遊覽了白鵝潭大灣區藝術中心,領略廣州的文化底蘊。
為了解大灣區最新發展,兩校師生走進南沙,參觀了國家第十五屆全運會建設項目:南沙全民文化體育綜合體項目建設,建設內容包括綜合體育館、游泳跳水館兩個甲級綜合體育場館。 該項目由中國建築第三工程局有限公司承建,該項目預計2024年底落成,將作為粤港澳三地政府共同承辦的全運會主場館使用。兩校師生有機會進入施工現場,了解游泳及跳水場館施工建設及智慧建造應用新技術。隨後,他們也參觀了廣州Apollo Park百度自動駕駛和車路協同應用測試基地,了解無人車技術的在大灣區最新發展。
自2019年兩校簽署了「本科生2+2聯合培養計劃」,訓練營成為澳大學生親自體驗華工的學習生活以及專業活動的平臺,也讓參加者了解到聯合培養計劃,為兩校的緊密聯繫和未來合作發揮積極作用。是次活動由澳大土木及環境工程系副教授陸萬海、助理教授潘覓、以及高級講師溫日明帶領。
