The “5th Summer Camp for Outstanding Students”, co-organized by the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) and the Institute of Collaborative Innovation (ICI) at the University of Macau (UM), has recently concluded with success. The camp attracted applications from over 800 excellent undergraduate and graduate students from around the globe, demonstrating the international appeal and influence of the FST and ICI in the global academic and educational arena. Around 100 students were selected to participate, including those from renowned universities such as the University of Manchester, the University of Washington, the University of Liverpool, the University of Toronto, and the University of Malaya. The program also brought together elite students from top Chinese universities, such as Peking University, Nanjing University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, University of Science and Technology of China, Harbin Institute of Technology, and Zhejiang University, further enhancing UM’s reputation and impact in the international academic community.
During the camp, under the guidance of renowned professors in various fields, students gained in-depth understanding of cutting-edge research areas, visited multiple state key laboratories and research centers, and experienced the charm of frontier technologies while discussing the hottest topics in science and technology. Through close interactions, students received valuable advices on academic and career development. In addition, the camp also arranged campus tours of UM and cultural experience tours of Macao, allowing students to directly experience UM’s internationalized learning environment and the rich historical and cultural landscape of Macao.
Dai Ningyi, Assistant Dean of FST (Administrative Affairs), who was responsible for the overall coordination and organization of this summer camp, stated that the hosting of this camp is not only an important step in our efforts to promote international collaboration and exchange, as well as cultivate future technological talents, but also hope to invite more capable and ambitious young talents to join UM. As FST marks its 35th anniversary, she expressed gratitude for the long-term support from various university units, including the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City, the State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI, Centre for Regional Oceans, Centre for Data Science, Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, and Centre for Cognitive and Brain Sciences, which have collectively built a comprehensive, interdisciplinary, and high-quality learning and exchange platform to help international students gain a deeper understanding of UM’s unique characteristics and strengths.
As the 2024/2025 academic year approaches, FST and ICI are fully prepared to recruit students from across the world for 15 master’s programmes and 5 doctoral programmes, continuing the mission of cultivating high-quality technological talents and contributing to the construction of a smart future.
澳門大學科技學院與協同創新研究院共同舉辦的2024「第五屆優秀大學生暑期研習營」日前圓滿落幕,研習營成功吸引超過八百名來自全球傑出本科及研究生踴躍報名,彰顯了學院及研究院在國際學術及教育舞台的吸引力。此次研習營報名最終錄取近一百名學生,當中不乏世界知名大學學生,如曼徹斯特大學、華盛頓大學、利物浦大學、多倫多大學以及馬來亞大學,同時也匯聚了中國頂尖高等學府的精英,如北京大學、南京大學、上海交通大學、西安交通大學、中國科學技術大學、哈爾濱工業大學和浙江大學等,進一步提升澳大在國際學術圈的知名度和影響力。
研習營期間,學生在各領域知名教授的帶領下,深入了解前沿研究領域,參觀多個國家重點實驗室及研究中心,體驗前沿科技的魅力,一同探討科技最熱門話題。學生通過師生座談會、教授學生交流等環節等近距離互動,傳授了不少學術與職業發展的寶貴建議。此外,研習營還安排了澳大校園導覽及澳門澳門文化體驗之旅,讓學生實地考察更深刻體驗澳大的國際化學習氛圍和澳門的豐富的歷史及文化風貌。
澳大科技學院助理院長戴寧怡(行政事務)作為負責統籌及組織是次研習營,她表示:「本次研習營的舉辦,不僅是我們推進國際合作與交流、培育未來科技人才的重要一步,我們也期待通過這樣的平台,邀請更多有實力有理想的青年加入澳大。」正值澳門大學科技學院成立35週年之際,她感謝大學各單位多年來的支持,包括智慧城市物聯網國家重點實驗室、模擬與混合信號超大規模集成電路國家重點實驗室、區域海洋研究中心、數據科學研究中心、人工智慧與機器人研究中心以及認知腦科學研究中心等,共同構建了一個全方位、跨學科、高質量的學習與交流平台,協助國際學生更深刻地了解澳大的特色和優勢。
隨著2024/2025學年的臨近,澳門大學科技學院及協同創新研究院已準備就緒,將面向全球招收15個碩士課程和5個博士課程的學子,繼續其培養高素質科技人才的使命,為構建智慧未來貢獻力量。
