The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) of Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of University of Macau (UM) arranged a visit for students in Master of Science in Construction Project Management to MEcom International New Materials Technology (Guangdong) Company Limited on October 26th, 2024. This visit aimed to enhance practical learning, foster university-industry collaboration, and provide students with a deeper understanding of advanced construction technologies and their real-world applications. The visit also aimed to improve students’ practical knowledge in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and construction project management.
During the visit, a detail introduction of the company and the progress of ongoing projects were introduced to the visiting students. Students are able to witness the application of modern construction technologies via the site visit of the company’s plant, particularly in steel structure engineering and prefabrication processes. They engaged in in-depth discussions with on-site engineers and explored the practical applications of high-tech tools such as modular construction and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
Lam Chi Chiu, Associate Professor of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of FST at UM, stated that the Master of Science in Construction Project Management programme was newly launched in August this year. The programme aims to provide students with a thorough understanding of the principles of project management, and to apply them across different phases of the construction project development cycle to achieve successful project outcomes in terms of time, cost, quality, safety and sustainability. This visit not only allowed students to combine theory with practice but also ignited their enthusiasm for future career development. The students expressed that the visit was highly beneficial, giving them a more intuitive and profound understanding of construction engineering.
The Department of CEE will continue to strengthen cooperation with the industry, creating more learning and practical opportunities for students, and continue to cultivate outstanding engineering talents.
澳門大學土木及環境工程系「建造項目管理理學碩士」課程師生於十月二十六日拜訪澳能國際新材料科技（廣東）有限公司，此次訪問旨在加強學生的實踐學習，促進校企合作交流，使學生們深入瞭解先進建築技術及其實際應用。提升學生在建築資訊模型（BIM）和建築專案管理方面的實踐知識。
在參觀過程中，澳能國際的領導林國華先生詳細介紹了公司的發展歷程、主要業務範疇以及在建項目的進展情況。師生們參觀了公司的廠房現場，親眼目睹了現代化建築技術的應用，特別是在鋼結構工程和預製件準備的工序，與現場工程師進行了深入交流。並探討了模組化建築和BIM等高科技工具的實際應用。
澳門大學土木及環境工程系副教授林智超表示，澳門大學的「建造項目管理理學碩士」課程於今年8月啟動，致力於培養具有前瞻性視野和實務能力的專業人才。該課程聚焦於專案工期、成本、品質、安全和可持續性管理，幫助學生掌握建築行業的前沿技術，以應對當前及未來的行業挑戰。此次參觀活動不僅讓學生們把理論結合實踐，還激發了他們對未來職業發展的熱情。學生們也紛紛表示，這次參觀讓他們受益匪淺，對建築工程有了更直觀和深刻的理解。
