Hi, There

About Me

🌟 Greetings! I’m Zhenning LI (Fred), your guide to the fascinating world of smart cities and cutting-edge technology!  As an assistant professor, I have the privilege of being associated with some incredible departments at the University of Macau: the State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (SKL-IOTSC), the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), and the Department of Computer and Information Science (CIS, adjunct).

My journey in academia led me to obtain my Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, nestled in the beautiful city of Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, back in 2019. It was there that I dived deep into the captivating realm of human-like connected autonomous driving and explored the vast potential of big data applications in urban transportation systems.

My research has garnered support from esteemed organizations such as the Science and Technology Development Fund of Macau (FDCT), the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province.

But hey, I’m not just a researcher! Outside the realm of academia, I embrace life’s simple pleasures. Traveling allows me to explore diverse cultures, while savoring fine dishes takes me on a delectable journey of flavors. Capturing moments through photography and expressing my creativity through drawing are my artistic outlets. And, let’s not forget the joy of cooking, where I blend ingredients to create culinary masterpieces!

Curious to see more of my adventures? Feel free to check out my vibrant presence on Weibo & Instagram!

Now, here’s the exciting part: I’m actively seeking self-motivated Ph.D. students in the realm of intelligent transportation (CEE) or autonomous driving (CIS).  Additionally, I’m thrilled to host both undergraduate and graduate visitors, whether in person or remotely. So, if you’re passionate and possess a strong background, don’t hesitate to send me your CV!

Let’s embark on an exhilarating journey together and shape the future of transportation!

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.
