Thanks to the abundant spectrum available in millimeter-wave frequency band and the tremendous benefits brought by large scale antenna arrays, millimeter wave (mmWave) massive MIMO can provide higher antenna array gain, higher spectral efficiency, highly accurate wireless sensing capability, etc., and thus has become one of the key technologies for next generation wireless communication systems. To establish a proof-of-concept of this technology in real-world communication scenarios, we have built a millimeter wave massive MIMO prototyping system which consists of a base station with massive antennas and multiple single/multi-antenna mobile users. The prototyping system is scalable and flexible by building the baseband processing modules into software-defined radios. It supports custom-defined functions/algorithms realization and various application verifications, such as artificial intelligence-aided beam training/tracking, ultra-reliable communication, integrated sensing and communication (ISAC), and so on. The detailed system parameters of this prototyping system are listed as follows.
