Yanwei Jia

Principle Investigator

Yanwei obtained her Ph.D. in physics from the National University of Singapore and had been trained in microfluidics and molecular biology for 6 years at Brandeis University. With intensive experience and great enthusiasm in multi-disciplinary research, she joined the University of Macau working on digital microfluidics and its application in biomedical science. She has patents licensed to international biotech companies and supported spun off a company DigiFluidic.   

Ren Shen

Postdoctoral Fellow

Ren received her bachelor degree in biology from Tsinghua University, China. Then after working at CDC for years, she joined the DMF lab in University of Macau as a PhD student, where she is now working on novel PCR techniques on digital microfluidics.

Outside the lab, Ren loves to travel and enjoy natural sceneries, or just stays at home for a relaxing weekend.

Tao Peng

Postdoctoral Fellow

Tao Peng received his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering at Central South University in July 2022. His research interests are microfluidics, CFD modelling and acoustofluidics.

Ziyang Guo

Postdoctoral Fellow

Guo Ziyang received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Inner Mongolia University. He got his PhD at the Beijing University of Technology in July 2024. Then he joined DMF Group and focused on optimizing the functionality of digital microfluidic chips for biological sample detection.

Sizhe Dong

M.Sc. student

Sizhe received her bachelor degree in biomedical engineering from Northeastern University in 2016. Then she joined the AMSV lab in University of Macau as a PhD student. She is now working on sequencing on digital microfluidics. Sizhe loves drawing, Chinese go and music,  and also enjoys traveling and exploring nature.

Caiwei Li

Ph.D. Student

Li, Caiwei, Vivian, received her BSc in University of electronic science and technology of China, and MSc at the University of Hong Kong.

She loves music,movies, animals, and nature. Her life motto is, “To an optimist, every change is a change for the better”.

Yingying Liu

Ph. D. Student

Yingying Liu got her Master’s degree from the University of Science and Technology Beijing. She focuses on the project about biomedical engineering. She is an optimistic person with great determination and perseverance. She does not give up easily and always tries to find out a way from difficulties. ️In her spare time, basketball is her favorite sport which always makes her full of energy during work time.

Yufan Wang

Ph. D. Student

Yufan got her Master’s degree in the University of Hong Kong, majored in electrical and electronic engineering.  And she got her bachelor degree in North Eastern University, majored in Biomedical Engineering. Her research interest now is X-Y electrode on digital microfluidic platform.

In her free time, she likes watching movies, and she also likes hotpot and barbecue. 

Wenhao Hui

Ph. D. Student

Wenhao received his BSc in Jiangsu University, majored in electrical and information engineering.  He is good at electronic design and software writing, has won a number of national competition awards and patents, and was selected as the 12th University Student of the Year in Jiangsu Province. He is currently working on cell impedance sensor based on IC chip In his free time, he likes playing with models and playing chess which can improve his imagination and make him calm down.

Aman Lyu

Ph. D. Student

Aman got her Master’s degree in Shanghai University, majored in organic chemistry. And she received her BSc in Applied Chemistry from Huazhong Agricultural University. Her research focuses on biomedical engineering.

 She loves jazz and rock music, movie and art exhibition which can make her calm down and Immersed in it.

Stephanie Andaluz

Ph. D. Student

Stephanie received her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics and her Master’s degree in Human Biology and Environment  from the Faculty of Science at the University of Lisbon. Currently is a PhD student in Biomedical Sciences at University of Macau. Her research focuses on genetic testing and precision medicine on microfluidics. In her free time, she likes to play guitar and dizi, sing, play videogames and learn new languages.  

Zhexin Zhang

Ph. D. Student

Zhexin Zhang got his master’s degree and bachelor’s degree from the Northwestern Polytechnical University, majored in electronic science and technology. He is now working on gallstone formation in microfluidic chip and stone dissolving drug screening. He loves listening music and running in his spare time. Although he doesn’t play football, he likes watching football games. 

Kuihong Gao

Ph. D. Student

Kuihong obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jilin University, followed by a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. Currently, his research focuses on impedance sensing integrated circuits and MEMS processes. He is an optimistic and adventurous person who enjoys exploring new things. In his free time, he loves music, travel, and learning about different cultures and customs.
