The collaborative Intelligent Autonomous Driving Project of the University of Macau (UM) is the largest research funded by the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT). The purpose of this project is to build a first-class autonomous driving group intelligent collaborative control platform and experiment platform in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is jointly undertaken by the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) of UM, State Key Laboratory of Smart City Internet of Things (SKL-IoTSC), as well as the superior institute and company in Mainland, including Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, National University of Defense Technology, Baidu and Hailiang Technology, etc.
Develop advanced ICT technologies, particularly AI, big data, cloud/edge intelligence, V2I networking, to overcome the technical challenges in autonomous driving. Including:
There are some challenges in autonomous driving, for example, the open and uncertain environment and the limits of vehicular autonomy. Therefore, we hope to solve the following scientific problems:
1. Robustness and Adaptivity of self-driving in open and uncertain environment;
2. V2I-enabled collaborative control in hybrid human and self-driving scenarios.
