Field Tests of Active Power Filter (APF)
An active power filter (APF) was built by cooperation between power electronics lab of UM and Tsinghua University. The APF was installed in the feeder for the main square of the Gymnasium of University of Macau during Nov. 20th to Dec. 20th, 2007 for testing. The total harmonic distortion of the source currents reduce from 20% to around 9%. The reactive power and neutral currents are also compensated simultaneously by the AFP.
